Like any other destinations, things to do in Barbados will be a focal point of any vacation decision. The island of Barbados stands as the only Caribbean island that does not have the Caribbean Sea strolling up and down its shoreline. Barbados like Bermuda is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. However, the latter is not considered a Caribbean island because of its location outside the tropics. To get down to the real issue of things to do in Barbados we should tell you that the island has a population of over two hundred thousand people and its one of the most educated population in the Caribbean region. Additionally, the country has one of the highest ranking in term of development when compared to other countries of similar characteristics. You may wonder what this has to do with things to do in Barbados, but, we just want to establish that this country provides excellent opportunities its people to live and work in the island while offering excellent tertiary training opportunities.  If you are thinking of territory training on a Caribbean island, then this is a good answer to things to do in Barbados.

Lets us not bore you on going to a beautiful Caribbean island for some mental challenge and get down to the business of what the island of Barbados is really about when it comes to vacation or holiday. We know that most visitors that come to the island will not have any form of surfing skills or will ever learn the skills required for surfing. But, the island provides some great surfing opportunities for visitors who possess the skills or are will like to acquire the skills to enjoy this activity. There is a well documented surfing event on the island in November of each year and the islands' east and west coast is ideal places for professional surfing. The south coast is for beginners. Many of you will be saying that less than one percent of the world's population can surf, so move on. Well, though Barbados is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean the west and south coasts of the island have some of the loveliest beaches in the Caribbean. You may say all Caribbean islands have lovely beaches, so what's the difference in this island. Well, Barbados beaches are not only beautiful to enjoy from visiting them physically, but, on a sunny day which is most often the case in Barbados, the beaches are just amazing to view from a bird’s eye view. There are helicopter tours that allow you to experience this incredible adventure.  This is another one of the lovely things to do in Barbados.   

So you are getting a bit more interested in what the country has to offer. You may have heard that the island is flat and you can stay in the north of the island see some parts of the southern sections of the country. Between this view is one of the most beautiful caves in the world the Harrison’s Cave. This geographical phenomenon will allow you to go on an underground tour of this attraction. Well, I guess you will now be in the mode for touring, so let me mention that there are lovely submarine tours of the underwater attractions around the island as well. Moreover, you will be able to sailing the island coastline on different cruises. So there you have it, you can view the country from above, underwater, around the coastline and even underground. Interesting!

Something is still missing. Where are the different places that provide great entertainment on the island? Excellent question, the St. Lawrence Gap area on the south of the island is the place to be. Moreover, the different resorts on the island provide lovely entertainment packages as well. Also, you can visit the Boatyard Beach Club and the Bajan Roots and Rhythms Dinner Show for more of the country’s unique entertainment. The country also has yearly cultural festivals as well. So there you have it, things to do in Barbados.

You can now acknowledge that this is an interesting Caribbean country to visit. This is the case with many vacations to the different islands as well. They are just lovely places to visit and the thought of leaving these wonderful places will sometimes make you a little depress. Well, for those of us who can't travel as often will have to look forward to what heaven will be like when we get there. Then you are excited again.
